Turning the Tide
Turning the Tide
Noam Chomsky is considered a "radical" by most political standards. While now best known for his politics, he first gained notoriety due to his contributions to linguistics. He is a major contributor to media studies. His views are based on his analysis of media over the last half century, which center on the forces controlling media outlets, and the protrayal of key events by these dominant players.
While I am not advocating nor condemning Chomsky, a previous post brought him up, and he's an important, if under-reported, contributor to our national political dialog. He has just started a Blog, so it's not too full at present.
So, you have been handed a resource that will expose you to very different viewpoints than you'll get from mainstream media.

This is an excellent excerpt from John Kerry's Biography by Douglas Brinkley.
This features a few references to the role of mercenaries, some fairly graphic depictions of battles, and Kerry's contemporaneous thoughts during battles.
